"6 Pack" of Wheaties

Went to an old home site this evening built in the late 50s. Betting on Silver ! I usually swing the MXT-Pro for about 2 hrs. No silver but lots of wheat. I really dont know why the older copper pennies that I find are in such bad shape down here in LA ? Dug these at different depths from 2" - 6". All that I find are in really horrible shape when compared to others posted on the forum. Maybe because of the amount of and frequent rainfall when compared to others? Not sure. THANKS for viewing. CCH

Keep after them EJ, if you are digging wheats, the silver is just a matter of time......,

Good Job EJ like Larry said keep at it should be silver there also .Congrats on a good hunt.

I get a fair percentage of "wheats" in the same condition here in Jersey too Cajun. I find "00 grade' steel wool works well in cleaning them up fairly well and quickly. Atleast you can read the dates on the really bad ones.

Great hunting EJ! Yes, the silver is to come and it's a good sign when you're finding wheat cents. For cleaning the non key date copper cents and nickels, I use a small brass wire brush. Easy on the hands and quick. Thanks for sharing your finds and HH, Nancy

Good find silver should be there !
