6 months with the 350

Hi all, I've had my 350 for about 2 years now and brought it with me to New Zealand. I have been for a hunt every few days for the last 6 months and thought i would share my finds....4 gold rings, gold bracelet, lots of silver rings and jewelry, over 1200 coins ($412 in $1+$2 coins) 73 silvers (in plastic sleeves) lots of old pre decimal pennys, lots and lots of 1c/2c/5c/20c/50c and countless other interesting bits and pieces.

I was bought a 150 as a random Christmas present and that's what got me into this great hobby...i'm about to join the dark side and have bought a minelab excal to use on the beaches and wrecks(moving to OZ in Jan) but will keep the 350 as my land machine.

Recently I've noticed that my machine is jumping into low iron when wiggling off most targets (just like bottle tops do) I have been digging these and have been surprised to find $1, 1+2c pieces and old pennys and even a .925 silver UK sixpence on one occasion! so recently i have been digging lots of bottle caps! I re scan holes to check its not picking up 2 targets and its been in locations 100's of miles apart so i doubt its the soil conditions. this is just a recent problem maybe the last month and i noticed it after a few hours detecting one day and seemingly finding only caps and not digging them.

has anyone else experienced this on the 350 or 250 with DD coil?

many thanks and happy hunting!

Thanks!...I have the sniper coil and it is great but it lacks a bit in depth when i'm after the old silvers......

Looks like you've found the ideal area to hunt.
Maybe you're hunting virgin grounds, to land
such great finds. Congrats on your totals and I'm guessing
the more you hang out on the forums and look at the totals
of the hunters watch the videos m- - - - - - seems to be every ones
goal (superior) your definitely getting what you pay for in that machine.
Garrett has done a good job created better than average detectors
for the money spent.

Nice collection, gotta luv the 350! Congrats

Yeah good point. The sniper does lack depth. That's prob why I like it cuz I don't have to dig much ever :) sheeeesh no wonder why I like the sniper. There is a good youtube video on that topic.
