6 inch Excellerator Coil

I got an excellerator Coil for my Explorer XS and am going to a place from the 1890's to hunt tomorrow, hope it does good, I know there is a lot of trash there so we will see how it goes.

I know you're champing at the bit to get out there with your new coil. I've heard it's great at separating and goes pretty deep for a small coil. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

You might prove this statement wrong but it's unlikely....I would be willing to bet money that you'll have a smile on your face less than an hour after you start using it,quite possibly way before that. I know it'll be like my 5" Excelerator with a tiny bit more coverage and a couple inches more depth. I'm not making any predictions other than the one I already made....or saying that you'll find anything spectacular. Just observe how it picks stuff apart, target by target. The 5" takes separation to the "Nth" degree. And of course,it's like swinging just about nothing compared to the stock coil....good luck Rick!

Thanks Kevin , I will post my results when I get back.

Results from today...Love the little coil , did not find much f anything to brag about as I was 5 min. into my hunt and the battery went dead.....lesson learned...I got a spare so I need to carry it.
Next time. Going to hunt Tot Lots.....closer and easier t get to.

Used this coil on several tot-lots , then tried the stock coil again....put the 6inch coil back on....going to keep it on for where I hunt.

I had the same result as I said with the 5" version. It's such a LASER it's ridiculous, and the depth cannot be argued with. Not much else gets in and around those pieces of equipment either, they are so fun to use! If I could discipline myself to NOT worry about coverage it would be with me everywhere.

I sold my 6 inch excellerator years back. The depth was found to be very poor. I personally found no use for the 6 inch coil. I use the 8 inch concentric which is very good.

You must have some stupidly bad ground to hunt,my 5" version has found Indians and wheats at 7-8". Coverage is slow...that's the only thing that puts me off about it. I do like that you can generally crank the Sens WAY up,and to get the depth you almost have to. I will also say I love my Sunray X-8,wouldn't leave home without it,even if only on a spare rod.
