6 inch coil in iron

I hunted a iron infested trashy site today that I have beat with the deus and manage 3 non ferrous targets that I lefted behind. Any suggestions on how to run the thing in that type of thick garbage. I ran open most of the time and would switch to a small amount of discrimination in another screen. I ran fast on deep off ,ferrous coin most of the time and high trash sometimes and manual sensitivity at 18-26 went down with it to help falsing on iron.

You have two choices one which you did but where you watching the screen . #2 go to pinpoint sizing with target trace and watch the screen .

Using pinpoint sizing with target trace you can have it as your user button or do what I do . I like to have a second separation screen high trash or ground coin .I just enable target trace pinpoint when I find a good trace to build .

Also if you run just in pinpoint sizing you will get rid of that high toning and gain depth . Then the only way to tell what you have id wise is to go back to your ferrous coin screen or look at where the trace is building in pinpoint sizing .

It's slow going but if you have covered it with several detectors doing the same thing again well return similar results . Time to try something different by using target trace you can hunt in the null that's find non-ferrous items in the silent part of the iron you won't find it all because of heavier mask items but lightly mask items well show well.

You can also run in the second screen with the disc for a piece of mind and concentrate on the screen .

Remember go by tone when tone is there go by target trace when there's no tone also those low conductors don't false like the high conductors this meaning they won't false below 12.37 and up this is where the iron falses happen and smears the screen when you have a good curser say at 12.41 and the iron is falsing and painting on both sides of it .But when you have a solid 12.41 better signal than the iron it well not smear here . okay . sube

thanks for the tips gonna try and get some more time on the unit I need it.Im gonna have to get used to watching the screen.

I only use this when I get into heavy iron which happens at all my sites or when I have exhausted the site I am working to the point of no good signals .sube

alot of my sites are the heavy iron or they have been hunted hard and signals are hard to come by, I pulled 3 targets with the ctx I missed with deus the other day with the 6 inch coil.

IVe also had success using combined 4 bin audio and 5th bin iron which I set to 26 or about. The discrimination is wide open except for the last lines of iron being discriminated out. I use Conductive but if you like the way ferrous works than try it.

You will hear lots of sounds and the iron. Focus ...I mean focus on small good sounds and try to isolate them out with sweeps and watch the screen carefully.

this takes lots of effort to detect this way and you will not move very far very fast. you will be sweeping small and slow.

I only do this where I know there are good targets worth the effort hiding in trashy iron. My site is old crusty chunks of iron falling apart with the digs..

I also put the Smooth or Long target sounds on as I want to enhance the sound of the good target hiding among the grunts.

It takes time but you will get used to the rucus of sounds and look for the better sounding long tones.

If I take off a few inches then sometimes the target will focus but in many cases it will disappear...I do not give up but may dig more or just dig down all the way but before I do on these targets I make sure I really checked them out well first as I knwo when they disappear that I will have to dig without more indications and some of them are false positives so before I dig I want to see the indicators showing well,.

thanks I was experiencing this the other day with the targets dissappearing. I need to learn its language and I know its gonna take time and practice. If I can learn the language of the ctx like I know the deus watch out I will wipe a site out lol , its tough learning a new machine I would almost rather go to the dentist!

How did it go with target trace and no you would not want to go to the dentist I just had a bridge put in today  sube

I havent used it yet again might put the six back on and give it a whirl today.
