6 IH, 5 Silver, one very sweet seated Afternoon.

Howdy all,

Got permission to do several houses. Last night we were supposed to get a inch or so of rain. Turned out to be much less than predicted. And the grass has grown. I don't like to detect in taller grass and dry ground; depth seems to suffer hugely. Think I'll stick with construction sites until we get some more moisture.

None-the-less pulled a few goodies.

First seated for the year. 1887. Very nice shape. Also got a 1874 IH.

Funny thing, I used to rub the dirt of coins to read the date and mint mark. This is a numismatic no-no, and I have many scratched coins to prove the point. Now that my near vision is bad enough that I can't read the dates anyway coins just get dumped to my apron. So when I get home there is a second process of discovery. Certainly wasn't expecting to get a date on the SLQ, or to find the seated dime was in such nice shape... There are benefits to old(er) age. I suspect they become less as time goes on.

Nice to see you getting some nice finds and hope you can keep finding them. James and his hunting buddies are doing great too this year, but they do a lot of driving and hope when you come up you can get a chance to hunt with them and even find more than they do  Someone has to beat his finds when with him as he is getting hard to talk to.

Awesome seated...I still await my 1st one...looks like u killed it. Great job!

then again those guys start at the crack of dawn and drive and detect all day. I never start until mid late afternoon. Don't think I'll be touching their totals anytime soon.

Hope to see you this summer.

Chris

Chris,

With finds like that, I'd be hunting right back at the same spot again no matter how unruly the conditions are! :yo:

Awesome coinage. The seated is really nice!!

Congrats,
