6" coil question

D&P-OR

Well-known member
How much does the CTX 6" coil weigh & does it effect the great balance of this detector (balance compared as when using the stock coil)?---------Thanks, Del

It weighs just over a pound....16.6 oz on my kitchen scale. I think it balances well. In my opinion, the whole CTX design makes it seem much lighter than the E-trac (I have both detectors). That weight is without the mounting hardware.

Thanks MJ-----I was guessing it to be 14-16 oz.-----I'm thinking of getting the 6" & was wondering about the balance factor.

If I wasn't talking too much I should have showed you my 6 inch coil and you could have put it on and seen how it feels, it is a nice little coil and I really like mine, just got to get out and use it.

I used my 6"today, I found a 1945 S nickel amoung about 4 big chunks of iron. It is a great coil to have when you hunt a really iron infested area. Gene

Great post. I find the stock coil and its iron capabilities so much better that i rarely use the 6". The 6" is perfect for ole torn down home sites.
