5x8 or sniper coil?

Habanero

Member
Which one would be better for heavy trash areas from those who have tried them? Is the sniper coil a dd or concentric coil? How do the 5x8 and sniper do on bottle caps? Just trying to get an idea if I decide to invest in a small coil later for heavy trash and I would want one that will keep the majority of the bottle caps away from coin VDI numbers, thanks.

Sniper coil is the best for trashy areas.

I've snagged coins between bottle caps with the 5x8 where I literally laid the coil on the ground and wiggled it slightly. I have both it and the sniper and really both have their place. The sniper will get up close against metal poles and fences better then anything else. It rules the tot lots! It's ground coverage is small though. This could help you in extremely bad trash. But that 5 x 8 is sure a nice coil. It's the one that lives on my machine most of the time now and I hunt in some pretty trashy sites with it.
