5x8 Coil cover doesn't fit my AT Pro coil???

Dig This

New member
Purchased a 5x8 Garrett DD coil and coil cover from Kellyco. Just got it in the mail today, but the coil cover is not fitting properly.
Is there a trick to putting these on? I can get the middle, and rear on, but then the front doesn't snap in, OR I can get the front and
rear on, but the middle doesn't snap in (gap in the middle). Is something defective??

They fit VERY tightly and can be difficult to get on (probably a good thing). I had the same problem when I first got my 5x8 cover and even after I got it on I thought the fit was lousy. Try slipping on the front and rear first and do the middle section last. To my surprise after using it in the sun a few times, the cover seemed to have softened and conformed itself to the coil pretty nicely.

You could try leaving in the sun or using a hair dryer to soften it a little and you'll probably be able to coax it on.

I personally don't care for those new style AT coil covers at all, they are pretty thin and the edge walls will split easily if you try to remove them often (for example, to clean out salt and sand). For that reason I choose to a attach them all with clear silicone glue (the kind in a tube from a hardware store). This gives them a nice waterproof seal and they never have to come off, and should you ever need to get it off, you can do it fairly easily.

The covers I attached with silicone (8 years ago) to my Ace coils have been great and look as good as new.
