5X10 VS 10.5 DD on the X-70 and 705?

I just read the Great reports on both coils. Yes, i know you guys have your favorites and for certain reasons. I just wanted to ask if the 10.5" DD goes a bit deeper? I know the 5X10 will outperform the 10DD in Gold areas. ..or ami wrong?
.. just wondering???
Is there a difference on the 2 X-units usinfg the 5X10? vs 705??
Any comments are greatly appreciated!

The 5x10 is easier to manover in trashier sites. The 10.5 probably would get an inch or so extra depth.I prefer the 5x10 because of it's weight and it's better in trashier sites. The 10.5 came into it's own the other day when I was asked to find a mates water pipes around his home the other day. In prospecting mode, it's the deepest seeking detector that I've got. Found the pipe he was seeking ran right up the middle of his concrete driveway. (The poor sod.) His digging confirmed it and he had to do a bucket load of extra digging as a result.

Digger(Randy) said that the 10.5 goes about 40% deeper than the 5x10 on coin sized ojects.

This is why=>The 5x10 HF will outperform(deeper than) the 10.5 HF in Gold areas on nuggets smaller than about 2 grams or so(which are the vast majority). As gold nuggets get bigger(to about 2 to 4+ grams) the 10.5 will outperform the 5x10.<=

Also Digger(Randy) said the X-705 is about 10% deeper than the X-70.

If you are after clad, copper, or silver coins then do not use the HF coils, get the LF and MF coils instead as they work better on these higher conductive metals and also reject 'Iron' better especially the LF with its audio harmonics grunt. Like the 9" LF CC, 6" MF CC, or 10.5" MF DD, but the exception is many people like the 6" HF DD for trash separation.

CC coils have more accurate TID numbers than the DD coils as well.

Hope this helps.

Yes, the 10.5 DD is deeper and I have not noticed really any difference in the high or low conductors being found with either the Med or High freq 10.5's...MO
