5x10 fisher coil or 9.5x5.5 NEL coil..........

I went with the NEL 9.5x5.5 coil and have no regrets. It has only been out once due to the weather here but I was impressed. It locks onto a small gold chain I have at just about one inch. During my first hunt I found a very small piece of foil around 7 to 8 inches down in sand, common clad in the 4 to 6 inch range, and a small silver trinket from a necklace about 3 inches deep. Just don't expect to bump the metal polls in the tot lots and go as deep as the 11" coil. That said, I have never had a coil as sensitive to small objects as the NEL but that is just my experience. In my opinion the build quality of the NEL is superior to the Fisher 11"DD. The best thing about the coil is how well it works with EMI compared to the Fisher 11" coil. Oh and don't forget it has a coil cover included. The only bad thing I can think of so far is the open design of the coil. It will grab onto thicker grass and brush more than the solid fisher coil but I knew that going in. I have heard good things about the 5x10 Fisher coil also. I was just let down with the build quality of the 11" coil mounting ears. As well as the damage from two hunts due to no rubber washers and decided that Fisher had enough of my money.

I ordered a Sharpshooter for my G2 and Omega. It should be here tomorrow. I know the one I got for my T2SE works great!

The 5x10 FT coil is a tighter coil than the 5.5x9.5 NEL coil...

So decide what you want to do with it...

FT designed the 5x10 as a gold prospecting coil.. So its really tight and hit's the tiniest of target's and cancels mineral well..

the NEL seem designed with more depth in mind first and foremost...
