5x10 Eliptical VS 11"

Has anyone tried both coils? I would appreciate your opinions as I'm trying to decide which one to go with. Thanks!

I have both. For stubble in the fields the 5x10 works better. I think it will get the depth of the 11" biaxial, just need to get out and hunt more with it.

I had them both & the 5X10 didn't even come close to getting the depth of the 11" (in my ground).-----Sent the 5X10 back--I use either the 11" or in high trash, the 5" (round DD).--That little coil is "killer" in high trash.-----I gues there is a use for the 5X10 for some people, just not for me.---Be nice if they would cut half the cord length off of it! :)----------Del

I like the 5x10 because of the long cord, chest mount the box & it is great in the shallow water. In the dirt I like the others better. The 5x10 is good for nugget hunting.

I want more depth than the 5",how much less depth did the 5x10 get compared to the 11".
I nugget hunt and the only advantage would be shape of the 5x10.Also the soild construction but a coil cover would work for that on the 11"?

I want the best depth but still feel a differant machine for silver coins is in order but the nugget hunting abilty of the gold bug pro is amazing.
Thats my main concern and feel the 11" may still have the edge on nuggets if its depth is that much better. The 5" is great for exposed bedrock but the circle shape is a downside.

The sensativity of the 5x10 may also be greater for smaller nuggets with more dpeth than teh 5" but the 11" might have a edge on larger nuggets with better depth than the other two on larger nuggets.LOL so thats why I figure you might just need them all.

I would love to see a 15" coil in the butterfly shape one of those aftermarket ones.

The 11" is deeper overall for coins/relics, but I cant speak for nuggets. 5 x 10 hunts a little better in iron trash, and pinpoints quite well off the tips of the coil without having to use the pinpoint. I havent used the round 5", so I dont know how that one compares to either the stock 11" or 5 x 10.

The 5x10 is deeper than the 5" and not as deep as the 11", the 5x10 is better on small stuff than the 11" but not as good as the 5", the 5x10 is better in trash than the 11" but not as good as the 5". The 5x10 weighs more than the 5" but not as much as the 11" The 5x10 has a longer cord. What else do you want to know??:lol:

That pretty much says it all (and is an accurate assessment) IMO!
