5x10 coil

Hi guys. I have been thinking of using the 5x10 coil on my F75 but the coil is very heavy. Is it any advantage over the 11" stock coil. First Texas, take note. Marko's 5x10 coil is almost half the weight of the 5x10 coil for the F75. Marko's 5x10 coil is a pleasure swinging . Not so much on the F75. However the stock 11" is a breeze to swing. GS

I have used the NEL 4.5 x 9.5 dd (close enough) and the Fisher 5 x 10 elliptical concentric and never thought of either as "heavy"....to the contrary , both are lighter than stock.

The Ft 5x10 coil is heavy but is a solid box coil so in the weeds it will not hang up like the 11" spider coil. Just a maybe, the 5x10 may give you a little better separation of targets over the 11".

The only thing I have found to deal with the weight is a harness.

I guess I am confused now, are we talking about the 10" spider concentric or the 5x10"DD box elliptical? If we are talking about the 10" spider concentric then the only advantage I see with that coil over the 11" is it will handle the iron better than the 11".

Got them both covered so you can take your pick.

Hope this helps.

I started using my FT 5 x 10 white coil this fall on a continual basis...Starting to like it.....weight? no issue----found me (4) merc's and an Indian In November. What's not to like????
I previously used the 5" round....period. Yes very light---but the bottom line is what works best.....

The Makro coil is hallow and the bottom is very soft. If you remove the cover and tap it you can tell. It is too easy to tear it up using it without the cover.
I always like the Fisher 5x10s on every machine I had one for. Half way between the 5 and 11 good and bad..

Look you young whipper snappers, I am a decade past retiring age and use Fisher's 5 x 10 DD coil the majority of the time and never felt it was heavy. It gets near the same in ground depth as the 11" and deeper then the 5", but sees considerably less targets then the 11" and actually gets darn good separation. It is a great in between coil for moderate to semi heavy trash, which, is what I mainly use it for besides woods hunting. Merry Christmas, all. HH jim tn

Update, I found by shortening the lower rod, it is not bad at all. I had the lower rod out to far. Now , I can only use my right arm so it's not easy. Thanks guys for all your response. Gs
