5900 Di-6000 XL-Sierra Madre

Passing Thru

New member
I have read and have been told that the 5900 & 6000 has a true all metal mode when set up properly. Where I live the city is in the process of removing and installing metal pipe to PVC pipe...There is an exposed piece of metal pipe, 1 foot in diameter, exactly 3 & 1/2 foot deep...By moving a couple yards to where some of the pipe is still undisturbed, a couple club members set up their 5900 & 6000 up for all metal mode...

Where I live the ground is ideal for detecting, about as neutral as you are going to find anywhere...By attaching the 15 inch coil to the 5900 & 6000 and moving the coil over the pipe, they sounded off with a soft sound...Attaching the 15 inch coil to the Madre and moving the coil over the pipe, a loud sound that would make you take notice. No mistaking there was something down there...

Would the electronics and filtering system in the Madre be entirely different then the other two...I have no idea and am asking if anyone can shed some light on this matter...
