56 pennies and a platinum ring

I've read in the past how detectorists sometimes have great luck on sledding hills. Today I thought I would give it a try. About two weeks ago we had a few inches of snow in my area and now that snow is completely melted. I started working the bottom of the hill and found just a couple of coins. Then I tried the top of the hill. Everywhere I went, it seemed like I dug a penny. Penny, penny, penny! I'm sure you know what it's like to dig a plug from a tough patch of grass. After an hour of digging pennies, much to my surprise a platinum ring popped out of a plug. The odd thing about this ring is that it's little thicker in one spot. On the reverse of the thicker spot, on the inside band, is a small emerald. That's the first time I've ever found a ring with the stone on the inside. There's lots of engraving inside including a wedding date and a Japanese name. Ended up with 56 pennies and a platinum ring. This is my first platinum ring this year.

Yes I know what a penny fest is.

I recovered 127 pennies in 40 minutes one day

in a tot lot. Kind of a personal record.

I've not found any platinum. Was the signal

strong and in the higher discrimination range?

Great find. Best luck in the future,

Nice ring!

Stone on the inside possibly has some philosophical import most of us would not comprehend.

I heard strange things about a bear's gall bladder, rhino's horn, and all kinds of other things.

A couple Twinkie's and a Bud for breakfast works for me!
