550 meter readings "Gold"

Hi ,

Kered helped me earlier with his 550 readings list but it didn't include what I was looking for. Readings for gold coins. Like the $5 gold coin. I have one i bought but it wont lock on. I was wondering if it could be fake or do the coins not lock on?

i'm not home so i can't look at my meter but the sunray 180 meter has a chart that has all the coins on it. if you can find a picture of one you could tell by what other targets fall in that range. if i remember right all the gold coins exept the $1 read higher than you would think.

i found the 180 chart thatKered gave you. looks like the $5 would be just below the reading you would get on a zinc penny. i remember reading that if you tape 2 nickels together they would give you the same reading as a $5 gold coinj. hope this helps.
