From the land of the Bluenose.....after a 69 coin day yesterday (no post as it's an article for Treasure Quest news letter) I headed out on a day fit for a duck after dropping Marie off twice for work as she had forgotten some equipment.
A quick trip to Tim's for me and to PetroCan for Goqucikski and it was off to the races. Of course the car's fuel was a halibut more than mine which I guess is the sign of the time! Thirty minutes later I was out in the pouring rain on the island surrounded by water , sea gulls, a lone blue heron and later in the dig a male pheasant who startled me big time....a real drawer checker experience to say the least.
As I was doing the front of the island by the causeway the park bouys came and the next half hour was quickly chewed up gabbing away. Foreman asked if I could donate a few finds for a small display in the camping office to which I agreed readily as they give me no grief at all about digging in the park. Have to check my log book to see what I found there that I can throw their way in the spring as they were on their last day before getting the pink slip.
Not much in the way of finds but sure was nice to be out in my favourite detecting weather and for a change.....staying dry but muddy.
Totals for the day were one large toasty cent, two dog tags, a "dewy" bullet and 54 coins @$3.96
