53Silver - What's Your Next U-Tube Post

Just wondering what your next U-Tube post will be about and whether it will involve the Vaquero. I'm also curious to know if you've ever hunted the Jersey shore with it.

Hey berryman - I hope to get out with my "V" and do a side by side with my 5.75 concentric and 5.75 DD. Looking to see how they perform on depth, maybe do some coil mapping, they pinpoint differently as well. I recently picked up an X-Terra 705. Very nice md, a bit noisy as I found, for what ever reason, all the md's I've tried with a display seem to be. I'd like to compare my "V" to it. I'd also like to do a video with my Compadre. That is one very nice md, relatively deep - 6" on a dime, excellent pin-pointing, and laser sharp. Today was a great day to get out but my job got in the way, again.

I can hardly wait for more Vaquero videos. I ordered one myself from Backwoods Detectors and should have it next week. I'll be replacing my old Shadow X2 with it. I've had a lot of great finds over the years with the Shadow and am very anxious to see how the Vaquero compares. From everything I've read on this great forum, I'm prepared to be amazed by the Vaquero's performance. Thanks for the inspiration and keep those great teaching moments coming.

Mike

I'm a big fan of your videos.

I would really like to see those videos you're thinking about doing. You do such a great job. Tesoro should get you to do a video commercial for them. You have such good voice and communicate so well.

Big fan of your videos as well! They are professional quality. I have them bookmarked and have learned a ton from them. Besides the guys here, you had a huge influence in my purchase of the Vaquero. Thanks for the excellent information!!

I also like your videos, however what I would like to know is what kind of camera are you using to video tape with? Thanks ahead of time for your response.

I appreciate all the kind comments. I use a Flip Cam, now discontinued, and a Cannon G9 for my videos. Thanks again.

If I was Tesoro, I would give you a detector in exchange for you doing a demo video for it. Your videos have sold a lot of Tesoro detectors.:tesoro:

I also watched your videos before going with Tesoro. They helped a lot in my decision.

I agree, My Vaquero just showed up yesterday. Your videos had a lot of influence on my decision. I also have a E-trac, and X-terra 705. I'm looking forward to a great experience with my new Vaquero. Great job on the videos.

As the others have said your videos are great, and also helped me pick the vaquero as my metal detector. Thank you very much on making a tough choice a easier one. KEEP THE VIDEOS COMING

The G9 is a great camera, unfortunately more than I want to spend at this time.

I go back to your YouTube posts perodically before going in the field. It refreshes my memory from time to time. Keep up the good work Mike.

mike5853,

Your U-Tubes are great & a good addition to the manual to clarifie how the differant functions (knobs) work visibly.

That is the biggist stumbling block nubies have, trying to wrap their mind around how the differant knobs affect each other + how to set up the metal detector for max depth in your own soil conditions.

People learn by three methods by reading, hearing & by watching............each help reinforce the understanding of something. I'm surprised Tesoro has'nt done vidios for each model & burned to DVDs (& included them with each MDer when they sell them) or have them on the Tesoro web site (it would be a plus).

I had a X-Terra 70, found it to be a piece of junk, they had weak battery springs & I had to send it in 3 times for issues with the control box & coils, finely sold it ! I found out my MXT to be a better & reliable machine than the X-Terra.

I've gravitated to the beep and dig philosophy, let the ID freaks rely on there machine guessing at what a target is. That means they will leave good targets behind for all of us to find in the future :clapping: .

Good Hunting...........HaRM

Mike, I'm hoping that you will do a demo video for the Tesoro Outlaw.

I think everyone would enjoy watching it. :)

Can't wait for the comparison. I have an xterra 705 (that I like very much) and a "V" on the way. Funny thing about the 705 is that I never realized how much the display "lied" to me until I starting reading posts on the tesoro forum. I went to the beach the other day and started digging everything to check just how much the 705 was tricking me. I ended up digging 15 coins, 8 of which I normally would not have dug...

That comparison between both 5.75 coils must be a very interesting thing to watch, I'm also a follower of your videos

Hey guys - Had a few serious family health issues over the past few months so I've been side-lined. Things are much better and looking forward to getting back out there. I'm working on a series of videos which I'm pretty excited about, should be fun but also informative. More to come in a couple weeks.

Great news Mike :) stay on the mend. You have quite the following here, so we are all pulling for you.
