Found this yesterday in a parking strip of a old neighborhood. It was 7 inches down under a root I figure by the scrip numbers its got to be older its just a tad smaller than a half and a tad thinner than a quarter. Guesses any one :confused: HH to all

It's a mixed blessing at times. We find interesting mystery items and don't learn the background of the object. Neat find.
 
It looks like some type of a miners tag to prove that he has not been left in a mine, or perhaps a tool tag.
 
Hard to be sure, hat or coat check, gambling marker, Bingo!! :rofl:
 
When I started as a new Letter Carrier for the USPS, the route I was on was City Route 13 and I was given a brass fob just like that. You might check with the local Post Office near where you found it.
