Y'all know I hunt Lake Mich...this am 24 degrees, but I got myself a few of those little handwarmer packets and decided to try them out....Went down to an old spot, blown out good, all the dry sand is frozen tight, but the slope where its wet and the water is huntable...[attachment 305415 dec2914-1.jpg]

Picked up a 1964 Rosie on the slope!, it hit hard, I thought it might be a Q or a silver ring...looking at its edge in the low sun really was a great sight to see.... the layers of black sand scatters all signals.[attachment 305416 dec614-4.jpg]..handwarmers inserted into the gloves worked real good...got a few nickles and a Q and some P's...heres a few other pics of the cuts and washouts from this area in the past...i took this pic of the cross back in 2011 when a fellow drowned here in the rip...the same cross was there this am, planted a bit farther up on the beach in the dunegrass, on account of its original position is now waterline...[attachment 305417 blow2.jpg][attachment 305418 cross2.jpg][attachment 305419 dec614-3.jpg]
The batterys dropped off real fast...but the Pro was hitting targets...no gold for me today, but a few of the local guys I stay in touch with have been knocking it real good over the Holidays!...Nice cuts when the sand gets washed out this heavy...seldom does a guy get to hunt the shore here this late in Dec, so that little dime was worth the 3mile walk I figure.. I've walked farther for less in the past! :lmfao: A guy cannot resist cuts like this...there used to be 20yds of beach here!

Good find on the silver dime. Wow, that is one heck of a cut. 24 degrees, you are one hardy lad.:beers: HH jim tn

Good going Mud! I use to use those hand warmers a lot when deer hunting. They've save my hunts a couple of times. I have a zippo hand warmer now, but it wouldn't be good for how you'd have to use it.

Yeah! This is the first time I've ever tried those little handwarmers! Cant Believe it! I'll never be without them again I can tell you!...I'll try to get out tomorrow..temps are really falling fast now tonight...
Both my other Pals that hunt up here have found a lot of gold lately, they are both super addicted, and hunt longer, and are tougher than I am..they text me pics of their finds and get me inspired as do my fine Brothers here on the Forum! I may just get lucky one more time this year..:please:

Both Chris, my hunting buddy, and I use those hand warmer packs on occasion. Mud, do be careful out there if hunting alone in those freezing temps. We don't want Elton to have to play taps for you. HH jim tn

Great hunt! Great Post! Great Pics! Keep the suspense coming:thumbup:

The Garrett Gals Say Thanks for a great post by the way :cheekkiss:

Mud you're one tough dude to get out in weather like that. I'm sure glad that you got rewarded with some silver. I really enjoy reading about your adventures.

Oh yeah, I got me some hand warmers for Christmas.:)
