50 coin day: Rosey and the Pirate of the Carribean

Leslie(nova scotia)

Well-known member
From the land of the Blueose.....well the bouy is hook lined and sunk on the hobby. Went a digging with Rosey Agogo and we did the whole loop from Sackville via Renfrew via Fall River and via parts untold and had a great time as it was a joy watching a newbie get his fins wet. Hit a local park that produced some sounds from the Twilight Zone with the ice on the lake letting out some moans that would scare a banshee into hiding.

The day warmed up as did the Garretts singing their number one hit "Coins Under my Coil" as Rosey and I hacked and wacked the pennies from the tundra while taking in the view that was afforded us.

Rosey took to the woods to avoid the multitude of mutt walkers who were letting their K9s run amok. One of them aproached me and I had to laugh as it looked too pathetic as someone had sawed it off at the knees. Give me a bun, mustard and fried onions and it would have made it disappeared pronto!

After popping a ton of coppers it was time for these two "super models" to exhibit this years trend setting attire for the discriminating digger.

Shown here is the Bluenoser decked out in a "Road Kill Fedora" with the fashionable camo Montreal Canadian logo for those bouys that want to be noticed on the golf course and not in the Stanley Cup playoffs! Completing the ensemble is the Kermit the Frog gum rubbers for the man on the move in the swamp.

Rosey Agogo wears the standard garb for the "Yippie on a Trippie" complete with those eazy to reach pockets containing the ipod, aspirian and Fido calling card not to mention the "Non Nova Scotian" tartan shirt favoured by our Afghan brothers!

It was shortly before this photo shoot that Rosey found The Pirate of the Carribean Jack Sparrow in the bag!

As with all good things our dig was coming to an end so we hit a playing field near my place to round off the outing and to attain the 50 coin day. Hit a nice 1963 silver dime and found Tinkerbell's bell while Rosey made the grade finding his first non penny find.

My take for the day was a cold shoulder and a hot tongue as I had left with Rosey before doing the dew domestically. Man the temperature sure raised some quick you when I got home with my take for the day...55 coins@ $1.72 including an anchor cuff button, tent peg, fun zone token, 1963 dime and a wing nut which I'm sure is the key to my missing family tree!

Rozie was in digger paradise having hit 25 coins!

Well me son hearz I'ze come to you from the galley a rowing and doing the kp and dishes with me Bud thinking about which place to plunder and pilage on the forth coming morn!

Doggone Leslie, you look like you just came from the Russian Front!! But then again, I'll bet that thing on your head is toasty warm, which is the important thing!!
You may rue the day you sold Rosey Agogo that 250. It won't be long till he gets the hang of it and then.....Watch out!! Tell him to be sure to dig all those nickle and one notch below nickle signals, that's where most of the gold hangs out, and the 250 is a gold sniffer!!
Thanx for the pics and the story!!
