From the land of the Bluenose......well it had to happen and I'm sure that all of us have had "one of those days" where nothing goes right. Subconsciously even before I woke up it was one of those days as I dreamed that Marie ran away with the Maytag repair man! Too boot I thought I even woke up on the right side of the bed at the crack of dawn (no I didn't break it) only to remember it's my day off!

A trip into the motor vehicle to get a birth cetificate for Otto Moe Beal and a trip back out to get Marie's "Mary Henry". Another trip back into the motor vehicle that resulted in a much lighter wallet then off to a dig.

First time I had one of those Kodak moments I got another blow..my digital camera was toast. Anyway and undaunted I continued on my dig and hit my 50 coin quota which included a 25 cent. Pilipanas coin, Casino Nova Scotia (nice Bluenose on the obverse) token for 25 cents, gold guild sailor cuff button, golf egg and the 56 coins @ $5.47.

Getting home was a treat as the brakes on Otto were screaming like a Banshee and to boot.............my ball game is cancelled. Was looking forward to it as I have missed the first 3 of the season. Tried to take a photo of my finds with my old Kodak Easyshare camera and that too was toasted. Lord love a duck.

Trying to scrounge up a digital camera till I either get a new one or the Olympus is repaired. Charged me $15 just to have a look at it. Son of a sea horse.

After a day like this it's off to the "Smart Shop" to pick up Bud and his friends so that they can come over to watch game 5 of the Stanley Cup playoffs......goooooooooo Ottawa!

On the bright side............Marie came home with a naughty smile on her face. Always a salmon amoungst the herring in the net I saz.

From the land of the Bluenose.....the saga contiues! Today it was two and half hours in the garage with Otto who seemsed happy with his new brake shoes. Then it was off for a dig that started great with coins a coming left and right on the old ballfield. Stopped for lunch and when I came back my machine was dead. Toasted coil so I was going to go home and just put a new one on. However Otto let me in but the key wouldn't work in the ignition so I walked a mile to a Petro Can and phoned McPhee Pontiac who wanted the serial number. Fellow who ran the place was feeling sorry for me as he let me use his phone for that call and one to Marie who was going to get her sister to drop her off after work with another key. Man that was 4 hours away. Anyway this fellow from the Petro Can drove me back to Otto and then to the dealership who cut a new key. Back at the vehicle Otto turned first crank of the new key and I offered the guy a twenty but he refused so I went to his garage and filled Otto up to the brim. Not many folks like that around anymore. Hats off to the operator of the Petro Can on Main St near Forest Hills Drive...a jewel of a man.

Mind you I was in a sour mood to begin with as the war is on again with the building super who lives under me and has installed his air conditioner for the summer which vibrates my whole apartment keeping me awake at nights and causing me to turn the tv on hifi in order to hear it during the day. Might see a move in the future!
