From the land of the Bluenose..after meeting some great bouys and a super lass while putting over 2500 miles on the car Pat and I arrived home safely!
First stop along the trip was at Laurier Station in Quebec at a hotel late at night after a long drive. The fellow couldn't or wouldn't speak English and I recall asking him pointedly if the place was quiet......that it was till a train went by the rear of the hotel at 0115, 0230 and lastly at 0410. Lord love a duck!. Upon checking the back of the place in the morning, a very early morning I may add I found that the train tracks were about 10 feet from the building. Imagine that place doesn't get much repeat business.
Arriving at my brother Darrin's the next day we immediately gathered round the sundeck and caught up on the news, kids and sports with the conversation flowing freely added by Mr. Bud. Got out to a local park for a quick dig and found a few coins and a dinkie.
Next morning was a tad groggy and Pat and I drove to Windsor where we stayed at my sister Cassie's who took Pat to the casino while I went to a local park for a dig with moderate success. Next morning Daygen picked me up and a digging we went and had a grand old time doing the dew and hitting various spots. Must say she is a keener and full of go go ! I'm sure I impressed her by upchucking all over her cousins lawn while we were hunting. This bouy sure knows how to make a good first impression for sure eh! Ended up with 35 coins and a new digging buddy.<center><img src="http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b6db33b3127cce8901af474d1200000016108AcM2bhk4ZN2"></center>
Next morning it was off to meet up with the fellows from the Christian Metal Detecting Forum for a pre forum hunt. Must say that Henry and Joey G are a pair of cards!<center><img src="http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b6db33b3127cce8901af4ccc2900000016108AcM2bhk4ZN2"></center>
Nine o'clock the next day we gathered at the location for the form hunt and I got to meet a few of the crew!<center><img src="http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b6db33b3127cce8901af40cc2500000016108AcM2bhk4ZN2"></center>
Of course then I meet the "hard liners and serious diggers."<center><img src="http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b6db33b3127cce8901af5acc3f00000016108AcM2bhk4ZN2"></center>
All in all a good day with Greg finding a barber dime, Mike a gold cufflink and Henry an Indian head copper.
My take for the day is as shown which included 71 coins but nothing special.<center><img src="http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b6db33b3127cce8901af4acc2f00000016108AcM2bhk4ZN2"></center>
Great time and now.. faces put to the names.
From there it was off to the Amish homeland area in Berlin to see the shops and sights (not too mention some niffty buggies and bouys in black hats with white beards)along with a lay over in Rochester and some digging. Long trip and good to be home!
