From the land of the Bluenose.....after two marathon ball games with the scores higher then I have toes and fingers I was free on Father's Day to go a digging. Johnny White Pail and I headed down the south shore to try out his second hand Garrett that he brought last year from a fellow in Truro. Having used a similar machine I thought I'd give him a hand with the learning curve for this particular Garrett. Man what a shocker as the machine has a busted speaker and no bell tone at all. Feel bad for JWP who is a real keener who just gets out occasionaly due to work demands....sounds sort of familar!
I tried using it and was digging at least 2 out of 5 bottle caps with the injured machine but John kept on a digging. Was a nice day and we had the school yard all to ourselves. Pennies were on the menu as well as a nice sterling silver astrological pendant which will be added to my collection. All in all a good time out. Once I get my other Garrett back from East Texas ( gone 3 months now) I'll take JWP out with a working machine. End result for the day was 91 coins @ $4.98, a wheelless dinkie and the silver pendant.

Johhny had a pouch full of pull tabs and bottle caps not to mention some hard found pennies.
