So far its the coil i thought it would be. The 11 DD and 5 DD are great coils and the 5 x 10 is the
prefect tweener. . Deeper than the 5 but the solid frame great for brush work.
All the flat buttons came from a well hunted cellar hole , all pulled out of the iron.
The dime was a clean hit at 4 inches and the silver spoon bowl was around 8 inches near big iron.

Sweet, sound like the 5 x 10 is staying on your detector !!!! Sweet finds and a killer place.....

The 5 x10 DD coil sounds great. I've been doing some side by side testing with the 5 inch DD coil on my Gamma, Omega and Gold Bug Pro. I placed coins in and around pull tabs, screw caps, pry caps and iron pieces to see how well each detector would do at picking out the good stuff from the trash. The Gamma and Omega did fairly well at picking through the trash with the 5 inch coil. Some people would even think they do a fantastic job at picking through the trash if they never compared them to a G2 or Gold Bug Pro. The Gold Bug Pro with the 5 inch coil excels in trashy places. It separates better, has a faster recovery speed and gives a better ID.

I'm now interested in the 5 x 10 DD coil. How is the weight compared to the 5, 10 and 11 coils. How well does it pinpoint off the toe of coil?

It's a must have with the G2 or GB pro, I have found it very useful in the trash and in the open with no trash....

Is the 5x10 much more sensative to small gold than the 11" I have been told it is but have yet to prove this, any input be great.I want a differant coil and mostly prospect with my detectors,I like the depth of the 11" but if it lacks the sensativity of the 5x10-I will go for the one that can get the smallest gold the deepest?

Rockpup1,

I now have all three coils and am in the process of building a test box to allow me to compare these coils on small gold earrings in a way that mimics the playground areas I have been hunting lately. It will allow me to take depth measurements in 1/8" increments. I should be able to run the tests by this next weekend. I will let you know what I find out. I am very much interested in comparing the sensitivity between the coils. So far I have liked the 5x10 coil and found a small bit of junk metal jewelry rivet about 3mm in diameter and 2mm thick but it was very shallow.
