I have olny used Excal 2 times and I have one crack in each hole in the plastic where the machine and battery mounts . Is this normal. Thanks for any information

I know these will crack over time. Your best solution is to call the dealer and see what they say. Then take it from there. I buy from a local dealer and he makes the problem right everytime. He will do the taliking with Minelab. This is why buying locally is best. I have a great relationship with mine and he takes care of me. I have also spent 5 figures ith him in last 2 years!

Some people seem to have cracks where they plug the cable to the battery. The caps constantly being cranked down causes it. Others on the pod its self.... believed to be caused by constant heating while charging the battery then cooling. Ive never read of anyone with the EARS having cracks. Are you using a home made straignt shaft that pehaps the bolt or whatever you used throw the holes are slightly off putting it in a bind? How about a picture? Plastic is plastic. Id suggest you call Brian at ML and discuss it with him especially if you have a warranty and it gives you any concern...... a years warranty goes fast and why have it fixed on your dime.

I agree with the cranking down of the caps, I just snug mine down but not real tight, never have had any problems with water leaking under seal. HH

John..... keep an eye on them seals you may need to change them every couple of years, also put a little plumbers silicone on it.
