What a great morning...We finally got an ENE wind to calm the gulf, after 2 weeks of a west wind and stormy gulf ,the sands most certainly got shifted around, lots of sand taken off the sandbar...I got started at 7AM this morning,I just cant tell you enough about how nice it is..clear water,no waves,no undertow,it was beautiful!!!!
Half hour into the hunt I got the white gold 14K(7.7g) band,no glasses, thought it was silver..ten minutes later the sun ring,no marks...an hour of clad,hoops(2 silver),cross and chain, and i got the titanium ring(5.7g)...Another hour or so got the bottle opener,Bush Gardens name tag, lures, wiped out mood ring, and the nicest Tiger shark tooth I ever found...
As i was getting out of the water,I was approached by a man that had just lost his wedding band in the shallows,he was crawling along grabbing hand fulls of sand with his daughter on his back and it slipped off..It was his lucky day...he had his wife and daughter not move from the area, and having seen me earlier asked for my help...His wife was very upset, even had the daughter crying.I assured them it would be found..and it was 10 minutes later!!!A nice gold band with diamonds. As his wife cried ,he wanted to go to his room and get some cash,i told him to enjoy his first day of vacation, reached into my pocket and showed him what i found already this morning, besides his daughter was first to say "thank you for finding my daddy's ring" that was enough!! So it was a 5 ring day ,my best ever with the DF...even starting to understand the tones,as well as getting the scoop set for quicker recovery's..HH bob.oz

It is a good feeling to return a lost item to someone. most jewelry means so much more to the person that lost it in more ways than just monetary value...especially wedding rings...thanks to all and HFDay...HH to all bob.oz

Great story and a great heart. The expression on his face is payment enough!

Man, they are never going to forget you for giving that ring back - and it probably meant more to the little girl because it was bothering the parents so much, even if she doesn't understand the importance of it yet. That is a great story. Well done!

KUDOS to you for finding that man's lost ring!!! A VERY NICE jesture on your part and I KNOW he, his wife, and daughter appreciated it to no end!!

Nice Nice post, happy for them and glad for you. This the stuff that I read about and get determined to keep hitting the beach, hoping for my first gold . ( does being jealous make me a bad person? LOL) Artie
