5" or 6" minelab coil?

Wondering if it is worth it to get an x-5 coil for my Etrac, when I already have a 6" Digger coil for my Xterra 705. What do you think?
I will be getting the 6x8 SEF for the Etrac either way, and I have the pro-coil that came with it.

I am very new to the Etrac, still getting comfortable with and learning it. I bought an X5 coil for it and have used it twice already in an old site that is very trash infested. Lots of old nails and the like. Prior to getting the Etrac I had hunted the site with my 705 and did fairly well. The only info I can offer is that the X5 with out a doubt enabled me to pick targets out of alot of trash that I probably would not have been able to do other wise. It is very small and will not cover much ground quickly. But it wasn't meant to. Using it is kinda painfully slow......but it will help greatly with picking goodies from amongst very close trashy targets. I am glad I have one.

I have both the 5" and the 8" to compliment the stock 10.5" for my explorer. And as the years have dragged on, I find myself hardly EVER using those 2 coils. I find myself using the 10.5 for nearly everything. And when I get to a type site (ghost-townsy type site, or under bleachers, or some-such nail-or-target riddled site) where I need a smaller coil, then I reach for my Tesoro Silver Sabre instead. Because those 2-filter type machines outperform in iron, than even an explorer with 5".

So seeing as how you already have another machine with a 6" coil to grab for such occasions, I'd say no, you don't need it. But it just depends on your tastes. Like perhaps there's areas where having specific tones like your etrac is a "must", or whatever ?
