I finally got my 5" Excellerator coil from Kellyco, had to wait for them to send me the plastic washers so it would fit on the stem, had to cut 1/4 inch off each "ear" of the washers so they would fit, and got the whole unit attached. It worked great, pinpointing some neat stuff the first try (old mule shoe, 1/2 of an old leaf spring). I'm wondering, however, about the depth readings on my MXT. I would get a depth of 8 to 9 inches on a thin nail that was 1 to 2 inches deep. Nothing else triggered a response after removal from the hole. Bigger targets seemed to be more in perspective, depth-wise. Is this "normal" with small coils? Any advice or help would be appreciated.
