Went to the Gulf close to my house today a little windy but flat like always at this beach. Tons of weeds washed in on the beach, but the county has raked them up nicely. Found some clad, one .925 toe ring and the trash we all find. Had a kid come up to me and asked if I was the garabge man he had some trash in his hand to give me. I very politely showed him where the trash can was. I left there and went to the river on the way home. I found 2 .925 rings one with a nice piece of GLASS in it.I was just proud to see a ring of anykind in my scoop. Here is my spin.

WATER WAS NICE AND FLAT

Nice job! Why is it that as long as you find a ring you feel better about your day out. I mean I love to go and see whats there but even finding a junker makes me feel like im coming home with treasure (shrug)

Dig, I have found many rings in my years of metal detecting, I do not rate my hunts by what I find, but as you say it is the experience of the hunt that day. One of my best hunts ended my last day at Panama City Last month as Ozzie and I were leaving the beach. We had a little girl come up and asked us what we were finding so I opened my pouch for her to look at all the junk I had found. Her hand went straight to a bottle cap at the top of my pouch and she showed it to her mom , she informed me that she collected bottle caps so I dug another one I had in the bottom of my pouch and gave it to her. The smile on her face was my treasure of the day. Ozzie and I discussed how everyone has their ideal of what is valuable. So I am with you on the value of a good hunt is the experiences you have that day, not what we find. HH

The only way to survive this game, is to enjoy the thrill of the hunt! If you don't enjoy the thrill of the hunt, you become a statistic and the unit becomes a closet ornament, or sold on the Classifieds or flea-bay! I speak from experience, after experiencing 2 STAGGERING streaks in my water hunting career. 1st one spanned 25 hunts, NO GOLD, then another 27 straight hunts NO GOLD. Both times I was experimenting with alternative settings, that were simply LUDICROUS!
