5 hours in the beanfield today got me some keepers

I pass this site almost everyday and I have been dying to hunt this field. Well the beans were harvested and I stopped at some nearby houses to see if they knew the owner.

Well one lady knew the owner told me she lived in the next town, I looked her up, got permission, and went to hunt it today. She told me the house was tore down many years ago and could not even remember exactly where it was, except that is was in front of the barn.....lol

There is a HUGE field in front of the barn, so I just started randomly swinging, back and forth up and down the field.

I dug EVEYTHING above iron, I did not pay attention to VDI numbers, I set my x-70 to 2 tones, and just dug all high tones. I ended up with a unreadable token, 2 wheats, both 1940, 2 indians, both 1880, one is super shape with full liberty, got a cool old Ford key and several misc relics......was a great day! Got a video of the hunt and will post it soon!

Oh my!! That is awsome. I am still trying to find my first wheat cent lol. Thanks for your post
if you get to an old home with the x-70, you'll find wheats, they are everywhere it seems, I have found 130 wheats this year

Glad to see somebody had some luck today. I Went out today with my son and did the same, and I have a lot of trash to show for it. Its a real shame how poor folks in Alabama have been in the past. Seems like they never lost coins in the old days or dang few. I have to redirect my research and rethink my strategy as this is the third old homesite from the early 1920s/1930s that I've hunted this year and all I got was trash. And, I know you're going to say it was detected before, but with the kind of misc. non-ferrous trash we were finding I kinda doubt it.

I have been to a lot of older homes that had only 1 or 2 coins, and a few had ZERO, not all old homes have coins!

Wow it seems like your 5 hr hunt really paid off...you got some nice coins and really like the old Ford key!

Those kind of finds mean more to me than some of the coins and such . . . interesting find!

There should be a number on the other side . . . . there were only a few different ones made - it was more to start the car than to keep someone from stealing it.
