5'' EXcelerator II Question?

I have a Sover. GT, I'm thinking of getting a 5'' EXcelerator II DD coil. They also offer the 6'' DD coil. Does anyone have these coils and which one would be the best to buy. Whats the difference in a 5'' and a 6''? Thanks for any help or suggestions. Gene

I don't know about the 5 inch but I've got the 6 inch on my explorer and like it really well.

Gene-- I used the little 5 inch for over a year. It is a good coil in really trashy iron infested areas . Its fun to use because you can poke it here and there where you cannot use a larger coil and it has no weight at all. I even used it on the beach to work around pilings. It will not give you much depth. When compared to what you may ask. The answer is any larger coil. I used my 5 in as an alternate to using my stock 10 inch coil that I found would mask out targets where iron and the good stuff were intermixed. I sold the 5 inch because I didn't like giving up a depth advantage in the places I hunt and went to the 8 inch concentric. I found the concentric was really good at sniffing out targets in trash, better than the 5 in and got depth equal to the 10 inch, but if you search my earlier posts on the concentric you will find it has some problems too. I don't think the 6 inch is available for the GT only for Explorers. HH Don
