5" excelerator coil

detecwi

New member
I'm new to this forum so if this ? has been answered before forgive me for asking again.
The ? is
Has anyone tried the 5" DD excelerator coil on the Garrett 2500, if so give me your opinion. I'm considering buying one.

I have used it. Depth is good, but you lose the imaging feature. Hang in there....there might soon be some 5 x 8 inch coils coming out for the GTI series. They will give better depth, better separation and be more cost effective plus are made in Garland Texas.

John,
I'm looking for somthing that will do a better job in trash areas such as old homesteads. What would you suggest if its not the sniper coil

That 5 x 10 DD should get you better depth then the 5" DD Excelerator coil and just as good separation.

I agree. When I was using that GTI 2500, the 5"x10" DD Scorcher was my favorite search coil for it. Excellent target seperation. Lightweight. Good depth.
However, I also used that 5" DD Excelerator, too and made some of my best finds with it. 5" DD Excelerator is great for tot lots and such, but yards and fields I would choose the 5"x10" DD Scorcher to cover more ground faster.
Best of luck whichever search coil you decide to get. Happy Hunting!:)

Thanks Metalhead and John
That was the type of feedback that I needed

The sniper on the ACE gets pretty good depth for it's size. Check it out!
Yes it does! Please tell me they're gonna make a 5X8 for the Ace. Actually, a 3X5 would be neat.
