Which 5" coil do u perfer & why. also which one is the deepest.. Thanks Chris

Hi Chris,
I have the EXcelerator 5" coil and it's plenty deep for its size. I had no problem digging coins 6-7 inches deep. My friend John dug a Large Cent in a city park at a depth of 7.5" the first time he used it! I'm sure the Sunray and EXcelerator have equal depth capabilities- Brian

what about toughness is one more durable than the other?

The 5" EXcelerator coil is very solid and built like a tank!

why not get the eliptical 4x10 coil the joey made by coiltec. only 4inches wide but 10inches long so plenty of ground coverage but still able to fit inbetween rubbish and poke in narrow places.

It is built like a TANK =)) I like mine and had thought about getting a SunRay until I used it and the deepest I have dug with it is a Dime at 6" so I was pleased with that. I have a SunRay Stealth X-12 Coil for the Big E and would not trade it either. I was going to put a summer behind the 5" EXcelerator coil and lots of old home sites and then see If I really need to buy a SunRay =))
