5" coil for ID Edge in stock :fisher:

Is this the one that works with the C$ also?

Sun Rays upcoming Invader CS-5 (5.5" coil) was designed for the Coinstrike with an adaptor that makes it work on EDge's too....
Apparently FRL has gone forward with their original plan to do a FRL 5" "ID-Edge only" coil....(remember a "Coming this Spring" dealer memo announcement?)
Seems there was no official announcement per say & we are just finding out ourselves today.....

uh, very interesting.

That's only the Aussie ones....
I have no idea what it looks like. I have never had a prototype, & have no ties to Fisher anymore. I'm only guessing, but I'm sure they would use the existing 5" soild housing. Mr. Bill should have some, or maybe the fella that already got one can post a pic??
Sorry, my only experience is with the Sun Ray proto.......

Bill, could the Sunray adaptor to use the 5.5" on the Edge work in reverse?Could the adaptor be used to make the Fisher 5" Edge coil work with the Coinstrike?

But you'd have to buy the Sun Ray coil to get an adaptor so it would seem silly to have to buy 2 coils......

True, but you could buy the Sunray and sell the adaptor or try out the other coil and sell off the one that didn`t perform as well.

Fisher spent the $$ to make a new mold and NOT use the 5" hockey puck shell.

I know Bill L poke and prodded Fisher to no end for this coil.

Thanks Bill!!!

is that I was told by FRL it was far too expensive to re-tool a new coil mold & that if they ever DID make any small coils it would be in the 5" mold. Perhaps we are seeing First Texas' having more money to spend at work? Surprised the heck outta me.....

I just talked with Fisher . They told me the coil is 5"s Dia. 1" thick does not have a 2" hole in the center. Is not a 0 bouncy coil so it will float. Has a 7' cord. Would you mind letting us know what is going on here. Thanks Jerry aka Tinfoil

Now he says the coil has a 2" hole in it now it don't float and it has a 7'cord. Hell he got 1 out of 3 right according to Everett. Did not get correct info from Fisher. Sorry for the inconvenience to everyone. So I will just leave. I will find out from Ron Dugger as soon as he gets his in what the real answer to my questions are. Sorry if I bothered anyone. One will be on the way anyway. As for the comment about wanting a small preserver, I am a water hunter have been hunting the water and wadding for 20 years. Learned a long time ago that the good stuff is in the water. That is how I pay for my detectors by my water finds and not dirt digging. I don't like detectors with coils that FLOAT, as it is a pain in the A$$ to have to keep pushing the floating coil down all the time. I hunt in a lot of trashy water also. Later Jerry aka Tinfoil
