5 cents liberty 1962?

Never heard of it show us a photo ??

ONLY silver nickels were made in WW2 from 1942 - 1945. They were 35% silver. The way to tell them from regular nickels is the large mint mark is above the dome of Monticello on the reverse. Another interesting side note is its the first time P was used on a United States coin to represent Phillidalphia. Otherwise the Philidalphia coins had no mint mark.

I have NO idea what a liberty 1962 nickel is though!! Liberty nickels were minted from 1883 - 1912 and 5 known examples of 1913 exist and you can buy a few houses with one!!! Actually one sold in 2004 for 3 million dollars.

Pre 1965 Dimes, quarteres and halves are all silver, war nickels from 1942 - 1945 are 35% silver. Halves from 1965 - 1969 were 40% silver. AND if your lucky, you might come across a silver 3 cent piece from the 1800's.

I hope this helps you with American coins. Good luck in your search!!
