5.75" COIL'S A GOOD'UN

First came the hard part-convincing my wife that the package HAD to be opened to TEST the coil before Christmas. Then, the testing had to be SERIOUS. So, since my 8" coil was broken on the Royal Sabre and since it was an older detector, I had to make sure it would work. Of course I had to make sure it would work on the Silver umax, also.
The signals were sharper and clearer and all the "iffy" trash signals showed the clicks, pops, etc. better. It was heavier than I imagined, but not enough to matter. The depth on the Royal surprised me-it must have a somewhat better circuitry-although not ED-120. Some foil was picked up by the Royal and so were a couple of gold rings(tiny) that I had just found with clear signals-so that was a plus in the ring category. Although larger than my 4" coil I'd been forced to use on my Royal, I had to be careful to still overlap-but oveall it sped up my hunting time considerably. I was able to get closer to playground equipment-but not as near as I had imagined. The 4" coil wasn't able to get much closer-so no big deal there. The time saved searching plus STILL getting sharp signals made me glad I made the decision. Well, I gotta go gift wrap it.:lmfao:

Well slingshot, it's sure good to hear that. I got my poor new Compadre chopped all to h.e.l.l. , all over the work bench. I'm starting off slow, rod changeout, "volume control" added, and add plug to 5.75 in coil and electronics box. That may be enough. I watched a video on You tube, the guy was really happy with his stock detector. C.u., Ron.

Well, the Compadre's the one that got all this started. I was wanting one so bad but finally opted for the small coil. It made sense, as that put TWO detectors back into operation-my Royal Sabre and the Silver umax. The Royal is kinda my trash detector but the 4" coil slowed me down. The Silver with the brown donut coil gives me faster coverage in wide open areas and the Royal with the 5.75 gives me a compromise between hunting in trash and a little faster hunt time.

I've been pleasantly surprised with the depth of the 5.75 as well as it's other features.

the 5.75 coil is one of my favorite coils to go back over sites i have hunted hard with the stock 8 inch coil. it will get coins being masked by trash that the stock coil doesn't see.
