5.75 coil

Would the smaller 5.75 coils with no label be the widescan or concentric?

The concentric 575 was the first coil introduced, and of course the widescan didnt exist at that time so Tesoro didnt think it needed a special label. But once the started making the DD coil, they figured both would need labels. Yours is probably a concentric.

If you own the coil, you can test it yourself to find out which it is.

Widescan coil has a wide detection field (about 80% of the coil size) from side to side, very narrow forward and back.

concentric is well.....concentric. Equal all the way around the coil.

With both, the field of detection tapers as the distance from object increases.

The concentric works deeper than the widescan. however I prefer the widescan when searching through trashy areas.
The widescan will false more than the concentric. This seeming flaw is how I find treasure amongst trash.
A quick forward and back sweep over the object in a couple directions will ID the object between the trash. With the concentric, the object is often masked.

That's my experience, hope it helps.
