What kind of depth you Guys & Girls getting with the 5.3 ??

Also the 4x6 if you use it ???

Again, all depends on your soil. They are great in trash, fence lines and tight areas etc.

Yea I was just looking for an average depth from everyone who uses it JamesBondAKA...........

One other thing ..I'm not seeing anything spectacular from the 6X10 coil. Where are you all using that coil at ........ Fields, schools, Parks ???

If you "force" me to answer...I would say 5-6 in.......average but it soooooooooo varies on the soil engaged.

I know that some like the 6x10 in more mineralized soil.....I prefer my D2.

Its sounds like your really getting into the v3i! Good things come to those.....who hunt!

I was not impressed with the 6X10 ..it just wasn't working like the D2 at all... I guess I expected more stability and got the opposite..

Having owned both the 4x6 and the 5.3, I would definitely give the depth advantage to the 5.3. I could get 5-6" in my soil also with the 5.3. It was my preferred sniping coil. I didn't like the 6x10 at all, horrible depth and balanced weird. I liked the D2 best unless beach hunting, then the 950 is nice.. You might try the SEF....

An ellipical coil like the 4x6 or 6x10 gets the depth of the smaller dimension. So the 6x10 gets the depth of a 6" coil and coverage of a 10" coil. The D2 is more sensitive and will be deeper than the 6x10 but is also more sensitive to EMI. At this point in time I don't own a 6x10.

My small coil is the 5.3 which is actually a 6+ coil. I'm not worried about depth when I use it and being a concentric coil it is less bothered by EMI.

There is no best coil for everyone.

I am with you Hook as far as the 6x10. Over hyped coil IMHO. I need to dust my 6x10 off outta respect. It's fine on my M6 though.

n/t

I've squeaked out a wheatie at 7 inches with the 5.3. It was a little jumpy signal but knew it was deep when I pinpointed..HH
