5.3 Loop Question

Chromics

New member
I took my new 5.3 coil out for her first trip with the canned coin program. I did OK, but I did notice that on many sweeps, it would register a strong tone with a good VDI. Subsequent sweeps came up blank. In the old days, I relied upon tone more than anything. Am I missing a score, and why would she hit on something and not the second time?

Thanks,

Jack

If you have a VDI blocked out, sometimes it will hit it with a tone and not anymore. When it happens again, see if you have that VDI blocked. My MXT dose the same thing. Hope this helps. Flintstone

Don't bother to look a the screen until you get a repeatable signal. There are many reasons you can get a false signal a single time.

With a smaller coil....maybe you're swingin' too fast....did ya lower the recovery delay????? Hope ya get it worked out....gl and hh!!!

Repeatable is what counts. Even a poor signal it will repeat sporadically. Try to pinpoint it, and then rescan. If you get no signal move on.
