5.3 coil? 8" coil

I would like to know the pros & cons for the 5.3 coil for the mxt? Also the 8 inch coil how is it compared to the stock 9.5 coil?
5.3 coil in trashy area's does it do the job?

It provides an excellent balance or 'feel,' very good depth compared with the stock 950, but still handles trashy sites quite well.
In the trashiest environments, I opt for the 5" EXcelerator coil. I get better depth with it than I did with the 3x6 DD elliptical White's coil, but not the depth of the 5.3 Eclipse (which is actually a 6

I usually sell a clean and decent used 5.3 Eclipse w/cover for $75-$85, so that's right in the ballpark.
If it's gone before you get it, I have a really nice one for $80. To me, it is the best coil White's makes for the MXT. General purpose and trash site handling is very good!

Put a 5.3 eclipse on and hardly ever use the stock coil. Great target seperation and depth. Found a quarter at 9 inches at the beach. I once bought a 5 inch excellerator coil and it couldn't see a coin at 6 inches (air test) so,,,,,,,, I sent her back. Probably the best thing about it, is that to get good coverage, you have to go slow. Don't think you'll be sorry with the 5.3.
