JimmyCT

Well-known member
Anyone hear anything? Anyone see this video? I was searching on youtube for a different brand detector and this popped up. Or is this someone editing and making a joke? If it is, they got me lol

I e-mailed minelab as well. I shall patiently wait.

Use of the music was a bit shabby.....I would have thought that if it came from Minelab it might be a bit more professional.

Well... I started to think this myself after I watched it twice ( being more professionally edited ) Hopefully my e-mail will be answered soon. HH - Jim

The only way any of these companies could get me to buy a so called "new machine" would be if they came out with one that would actually see into the ground and send back the image of what "Exactly" is in the ground, don't see that happening.......Anything else would just be bells and whistles......HH

I think there is already a detector that it does just that, it will give you a picture of the object on real time, talking about price Wow.

That would be a sweet dream!

my Idea of a good detector is one that can find an object 3x deeper that the coil is wide and pick out silver or gold thru a box of nails or a bag of aluminum cans and tell you the alloy and not make a peep on the Iron or aluminum , it could also tell you the last time it was heated to melting point , because it would sense the heat clock that is the last time it was heated the metal would reset a previuse cloock that the detector could tell and give you a date also the detector could tell you the last time the metal was stamped and give a presise date who knows what tecnology will come out someday your limitations would be getting permission and how much you could dig and or weather it was under a concreat slabb ect,

I found this on the Codan web site (Minelab's parent company)! "new
consumer products expected in the second half".
That would be in June.

COMPANY ANNOUNCEMENTS PLATFORM
AUSTRALIAN SECURITIES EXCHANGE
CODAN LIMITED ANNUAL RESULTS
HALF YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2011

Metal Detection
Sales of metal detectors in all markets and regions other than North East Africa
have been strong, with the Minelab brand continuing to win market share. Sales
of our countermine metal detectors, which are used to find unexploded mines,
have significantly exceeded the corresponding period. With the launch of new
consumer products expected in the second half,
the business unit is well placed
to deliver another good result.

Here is the complete report.

So there may be some truth to this person's video I posted. hmmm
I have received no word from Minelab on the subject...

will our current detectors become relicks of the past when this comes out , ? no longer loved, will they be on the Island of misfit detectors, untill rodolf finds them a home . Oohh my word

From what I understand those machines that show a "picture" of what is in the ground aren't very good, and have real problems with coin sized objects. They also have very low pixel ability in the "pictures".

For sand hunting only. Doesn't have enough features to really do any coin hunting, and it can't be used in salt water.

Interesting date on the announcement That's the date of the Minelab dinner in Atlantic City with 1000 invited guest! I'll be there with the others maybe its one of the giv away detector?

Why are individuals promoting Blisstool in the Minelab (and other) forums?
It has a small following and is derided in tech forums as a hoax.

I've been very skeptical of it and trying to caution people in those threads where one of the dealers is promoting it with videos that are supposed to show it's incredible depth. Turns out, sure enough, a guy who bought one said he's only getting I think 8 or 9" on a coin, and that even with it set for that kind of depth it was falsing constantly even with normal coil movement.

If it does (???) live up to it's claims of depth it even still it's got a very limited useful market. It can't be used in salt water, and the discrimination can only be raised high enough to knock out foil. So it would only be useful for having say PI depth on beaches with the ability to knock out iron. It also doesn't have modulated audio (meaning where the audio gets softer the deeper the target is), so you don't know how deep the target is. Is it 5" or is it 25"? Can you imagine digging extra wide holes on public land because you don't know how deep you have to dig? And with no tone alerts or VDI it should at least have the ability to raise discrimination high enough to kill everything below copper pennies. So if indeed it can achieve the depths they claim it's probably only useful for beach hunting, or perhaps private field hunting where there is a lot of iron but not much non-ferrous trash to dig in the hopes for some really deep old coins.

KellyCo also has another machine from the same country over seas that is claiming depths like this. I only took a quick glimpse at the specs but from the looks of it it also has no VDI or tone alerts too.

That's just like the new light weight machine (name withheld) from over seas that people got all excited about. Yes, it has some unique features but I'm hearing it's depth isn't all that great and the VDI is very unreliable. It is said to be a super fast machine though so you can work heavy iron without having to swing slow (big deal), but then there are plenty of other fast machines on the market that cost about 1/3rd that price. I haven't checked but a friend told me he's starting to see those machines turn up used for sale on the net. A lot of money to spend to find out you don't like it, or that it isn't as capable as you hoped.

About four months ago ran into to a guy hunting in the water talked about our finds He told me Mine Lab was coming out with a new water machine and Its called a excalibur professional series and is going to retail for about $1800.00 U.S. dollars.could not tell me anything else.when I sent my excalibur in for repairs talked to a service person and could not verf or denie the new machine.
