hi everyone my dealer is still telling me my 5/10 dd 1875 coil is waterproof. he said use it in the water if it is not waterproof Minelab would replace it. i would like to know for sure is it or is it not waterproof. frank.

Get your dealer to put it in writing that he'll replace it. If he does then for all practical purposes it is, if he refuses, it isn't. And let us know how "confident" he is after that. :)

I was told the same thing when I bought mine, But after buying it I stop in to see the dealer and was told by others in the shop it is not water proof just water resistant. If you go to FAQ at the top of the page you will see a chart with all the coils and it tell you it's not. Hope this helps.

I can assure you that Minelab consider the 10x5 to be "water resistant" (light splashes and light rain) but not waterproof (submersible). If you want to go poking your coils into a creek or a rock pool, you'll need to get a coil like the 6" DD which is actually waterproof.
