Hi All, new to the forum so bear with me. I have been out with my MXT with stock coil several times and believe I have managed to clean up half the state of Tennessee of trash. What coil is best for high mineralization and trashy areas. Thanks for any input.

I use the 6x10DD to begin with.
After I've cleaned up the area a bit I put on the
stock 9.5 for deeper searching. Just got the Whites
super 12 inch. I'll be useing that for for the corn and
bean fields after they plow. I have the eclipse 5.3
but may buy the 4x6 shooter.
You have a good machine. Don't let yourself get
swayed into buying the newest one out there unless
you have the extra money. The V3 is several steps
above the MXT from what I can see, but the MXT is
still tops in my book.

My first hunt with my MXT and stock coil was in a very trashy park. Nearly impossible to detect with that combo. Put the little 4X6 on and the difference was unbelievable. The small coil slipped thru the trash and separated the goodies very well. I retrieved a nice mix of targets and have been a fan of that coil ever since. The 5.3 is pretty darn good in trash and the 6X10 is better than the 9.5 stock, but when I hit really trashy areas, the 4X6 outshines them all. The down side is you have to settle for less ground coverage and need to hunt slowly and deliberately which is a good thing anyway. It's quite easy when swinging the small coil to get a fair bit past the target before you stop the swing so slow is the goal.

I swear by the 4X6.But out in the open area's, i use the Super 12. I tried the 6X9 and wasn't impressed with it much and swapped it for the 12.

NOW,,,,,,If you are in an area that is really ugly (high mineralization) then i would use the 6X9 or if i was stronger the 10X14 coil.

I am very happy with my two coils.:detecting:
