4x6 DD coil MXT

Moe (FL)

New member
I recently got my 4x6 DD coil for the MXT. I took it to an old park with lots of iron/trash. I find it harder to pinpoint with than the stock 9.5" coil. DOes anyone know how deep can it go? I hit a few targets that jumped all over including 81,82,83,84, 86 but when I dug I couldn't find anything. Several of these targets with 80s VDI also gave the message of BIG ITEM. What does the BIG ITEM mean when you get VDI in 80s? Could it be a large coin?

Does anyone have a list of VDI numbers for the MXT (coins)?

Thanks,
HH

Hi you might want to check your gain, just a thought. HH Dennis in Idaho

That coil is one of the easiest and most accurate to pinpoint with. Move the coil back-and-forth across your target, make sure you hold the coil level. When you are directly over the target, you can tell by the sound or blocks on the screen, stop and imagine, or draw a line with your knife or whatever you are using, from top to bottom where the coil was. Then, turn 90 degrees and move the coil back-and-forth over that line. When you are over the target again, stop and imagine, or draw a line from the top to the bottom of where the coil was. Where those lines intersect, is where your target is. For even more accuracy, you can shift to another angel, and go back-and-forth with the coil and get another intersecting line. Remember, it is very important to hold the coil level. With practice, you will get so good at this, you won
