4th of July hunt yields more NE silver!

Charles (Upstate NY)

Well-known member
Here's my 4th of July finds. I made a b-line for what looked like the last spot anyone would have bothered to detect at this site and bam BAM barber dime barber half dollar! Found a couple wheats then moved on to another spot. I picked a line, started walking and it was like shooting fish in a barrel, several wheats, then a merc stuck to a wheat, then the cool button, and more wheats. I called it a day after 3 hours and headed for home.

Nice...I see you are having good luck...any place I know?...I found a new place today ...found a standing 1928 liberty quarter and silver 1958 washington quarter....I think someone broke open the piggy bank here....filled with penny's...I gotta try the water soon...I heard about a woman throwing her engagement ring in the water...this place is a function place and use to be a ski hill and close by a motorcycle track...it has potential...

Things are moving kind of slow and it seems to be a lot of the same problems being beaten to death day after day.
I would like to see some people get out and put into practice all the info thats given them.
I'd also like to see a flood of posts showing what everyones finding. Good bad or indifferent. All finds are interesting. Just some are worth more than others.
Here are mine for today. Yes with my SE.
Nothing great. But a beautiful day to be out.

I dug two on Sat. and two on Sun. last wkend. Only one with a date. Pretty nasty coppers.

My point exactly. A forum is for sharing and camaraderie.
I am a straight forward and yet rebellious sort of a guy. Thats what gets me in trouble. When I see the forums used to bash machines and each other it makes me appreciate the small independent forums. Where finds and how your day went is more important than why my SE makes a squeaky noise when I walk between two parked cars with it on.
Show some interest in others finds and others will respond to your posts.

I apologise if I've offended you. I wasn't "bashing you," I was teasing you because Charles is living and detecting up there in your neck of the woods. I've hunted with Charles here in Oregon many times.
He's got a good handle on the Explorer. If it's there, he'll find it. He's an animal...That's all I was saying.

My finds have been slim to none the last four weeks. SE's been back and fourth to Vegas 2 different times and now my doctors got me off my feet for a while due to a back injury. Also it's really dry and hot here. Digging is hard work...

I will say this; I've heard many other folks comment on how dead this forum has been lately. In fact, I myself spend most my time on another.

Good hunting to you Bob.

JAB
