Just got back from a weekend hunt at a salwater/blacksand beach. I found the normal junk and $3.56 in clad. But I was able to find an18K small gold ring, 1 junk ring, 1 junk earring,
I first started my hunt with the 10X14 Mono coil which after slowing my swing speed down was able to get the Infinium to somewhat stabilize in the surf. It was only a little chattery when the waves hit the coil, but was able to hear the good signals fine. I will say the depth of the 10X14 was excellent. Most of the time I was digging 5-6 scoopfulls straight down before finally recovering my targets. I got to use the 8" Mono for awhile and found it to be more stable and easier to pinpoint, but sacrificed depth greatly. All in all I will stay with the 10X14 for the saltwater beaches and the 8" for the freshwater lakes I hunt.
IMO,
The so called falsing the Infinium makes isn't nearly as bad as I have read in the forum. The Infinium had NO problem with blacksand at all.
The small 18K ring was found with the 10X14 Mono coil.
I will post pics later this evening.
