I've been following the Garrett forums for about a year and finally decided to join. I've had my ATP since February and have greatly enjoyed it, but had yet to find any gold with it. On October 16 I struck pay dirt. While waiting to pickup my car from the garage I was checking a soccer field and got a constant VDI of 49. I had a feeling it might be something more than a pull tab. At about 5 inches I got a glint of gold and pulled out a 14k combination diamond engagement and wedding band, The solitaire looks to be about 1/5 carat with 9 chips. It is a Love Story brand, which claim to use only high quality diamonds.
I've found 46 rings so far since Nov. 8, 2010. I found 2 other gold rings with my Ace 250, one a small girl's 14k ring, and the other a combination silver and 10K girl's ring that I found when the ATP was being repaired by Garrett. Forty percent of these rings have been precious metals.
Makes it worth the numerous waste baskets I've filled with pull tabs and can slaw. Thanks for looking.
