I will try to look at the dates on the wheats this evening, but they are all so rough and encrusted in crud that I doubt I will get dates out of all of them.

I do what others here have suggested. Get Hydrogen Peroxide from a beauty salon or beauty supply. Put a little in a plastic container and heat it in the microwave for 20 seconds or so. Drop a few pennies in and let them bubble away. After the bubbles spot brush the coin and see how it looks. This seems to be the best way to burn the crud off. Do again if need.

Looks like the Explorer was kicking butt in the iron too. One of those Rosies looks like it was literally touching a piece of iron.
I love finding goodies like that, makes one appreciate the Explorer :)

Don't find many sites that can produce like that, even though I do know of one but it is off limits. It sure is nice to have friends share their sites with you and maybe someday you can return the favor. Very Nice Assortment. I know the feeling when you find a site like that and I hope it keeps producing a few more times there for you guys. Good Luck and HH.:detecting:

We went back there the next day.... 4 guys hunting there for 2 hours produced 1 silver by me and 2 silver for another guy.

The other two guys that were with me the first day got 6 silver coins between them. 5 by the other Explorer guy and 1 for the Garrett guy.

I would show the garrett gti1500 some silver and wheats at just 3-4 inches and he couldn't pick them up with his machine. I don't know how you could possibly keep a machine that can't find silver at 3" deep.

My Bounty Hunter Big Bud Pro Select 220-D could have gotten a Silver Dime at 3" no problem. Max was about 6" or so and that is why I got rid of it. Just wasn't getting deep enough and I knew Coins were deeper than that. I guess some people just like their detectors that much that they don't want to go through the learning process again or just are happy digging Clad. But I do know this, I am stickin' with the Minelab Explorer for good, unless something more sophisticated comes out that works better in trash and goes 6" deeper. Until then, Minelab Explorer all the way. Good Luck and HH.
