45 minutes worth...

It snowed all morning and rained all afternoon to make up for it today. Around 03:30 PM a big hole opened up and the sun came out. I have not been out all week so I changed cloths and was off work at 04:00 PM. It was around 37F/3C. Detected a field between soldiers barracks, it was full of junk. About 15 minutes into the hunt a storm blew in and it started to rain, I stuck it out for another 30 minutes getting soaked in the process. The XT70 needed a bath anyway and my boots and gloves are nice and clean. Good thing I stayed because I found an American clad dime, two nickels and lots of junk. Was good to get out on 8 February as it should be frozen solid now. After a hot shower I feel like doing it again but will probably watch some BS on TV, LOL. HH, Mike

I'm about 10 years younger than you, and if we were neighbors, you probably would have gone with me anyway, LOL! HH and it was good to get out, Mike

A friend and I decided to run into town and go to the local clubs afternoon hunt, I don't belong to clubs for various reasons but decided after years to give it a try again. My friend never showed up but I found where they were having the hunt, it was nasty out raining and very windy. Well I had wrapped my unit up, had some warm clothes on but I could not get the others to leave the confines of the shelter. It was a 185mi drive one way for me to attend but I did end up with some nice door prizes a Silver dollar for my trouble and some good food, but I don't think I will try that one again unless there is Gold involved :surrender: Hh...Geo

I have not done a club hunt yet. Wanted to go last year to a German club hunt but it was the weekend of my wife's birthday, non starter, LOL! HH, Mike

Clubs are good, in certain circumstances, for me it was a driving issue, 205 mi's one way to a meeting that would last 15 mins, then at one of the hunts someone swiped some stuff from my table and that was the last straw... HH...Geo
