I took a $.45 , 3/4" PVC coupling, cut it down, glued in a plug and put it on my DX-1 to assist in scratching in the dirt. The part that extends beyond the probe also measures 3/4".

really nice idea . glad they make some probes out if items we mod semi easily . that took some thinking to make scratching easier . grratz .

fsa46, that 3/4 " pvc coupling looks great, but remember if it extends an inch from the tip of the in-line probe that is one inch less that it will detect your target. It sure will keep the wear of the tip of the probe to a minimum though. I use a pvc cap over the probe tip that will reduce the depth of the probe about 1/2 " max. Thanks for the photos, GH, Don

Don, I thought of that when I made it but figured that the 3/4" tip can easily be placed into the earth making the flat part come in contact.

It doesn't make much difference though because I'm not going to keep the DX-1 and haven't even used it yet.
